What You’ll Need
Before we dive into the magic of transforming your locks, grab these must-haves:
-
Sectioning Comb: Essential for creating those flawless partings.
-
Large Hair Clips: To keep your top layer out of the way.
-
Small Hair Clips: For the finer details and securing smaller sections.
-
Hair Brush: For a smooth, tangle-free base.
- Hot Tool: Optional but highly recommended if you’re in the mood for some heat styling.
- Hand Mirror: Optional, but super handy if you’re playing mirror acrobatics.
Step 1: Prepare Your Hair
- Brush It Out: Give your hair a good brush to zap those tangles and get it sleek. Smooth hair is happy hair.
- Create a Parting: Start at the lower back of your head and use your tail comb or fingers to make a horizontal parting. Go as low or as high as you like, depending on where you want your first weft to sit.
Step 2: Clip Up Your Hair
- Secure the Top Layer: Clip the hair above your parting up and out of the way with large hair clips. This keeps it from interrupting your extension magic.
Step 3: Prepare the First Weft
- Grab and Open the Weft: Take out your first weft from the 7th Heaven stash. Make sure it’s long enough to fit comfortably along your hairline. Pop open all the clips and get them ready to be snapped in.
Step 4: Install the First Weft
- Position and Clip: Place the opened clips just below your parting. Insert them into your hair—not on your scalp—and snap them shut until you hear that satisfying click. Repeat for all clips on this weft.
Step 5: Create a New Parting
- Layer Up: Release the hair you clipped up earlier. Create a new parting slightly above the last one, leaving about half an inch of natural hair between layers. Clip the top layer up again.
Step 6: Install Additional Wefts
- Repeat and Blend: Continue attaching the wefts in the same way, moving up the head. Adjust placement as needed to ensure a seamless blend with your natural hair.
Step 7: Check for Gaps
- Smooth It Out: Run your fingers along the wefts to ensure they lie flat and seamlessly blend. If you spot any gaps, gently snap the clips open, reposition the weft, and snap them back in.
Step 8: Add Side Pieces
- Frame Your Face: Insert and position the side pieces to blend perfectly with your natural hair. Adjust them to frame your face and complete that flawless look.
Step 9: Style Your Hair
- Heat It Up: Turn on your styling tool to a safe temperature (320-360 degrees). Curl or style your hair, blending the clip-ins with your natural locks for a picture-perfect finish.
Step 10: Removing the Hair Wefts
- Gently Remove: To take out the clip-ins, snap open all the clips first. Gently lift the weft away from your hair. No yanking allowed—let’s keep it smooth and easy.
