What You’ll Need
Before we dive into the magic of transforming your locks, grab these must-haves:
- Sectioning Comb : Essential for creating those flawless partings.
- Large Hair Clips : To keep your top layer out of the way.
- Small Hair Clips : For the finer details and securing smaller sections.
- Hair Extension Brush : For a smooth, tangle-free base.
- Hot Tool: Optional but highly recommended for heat styling.
- Hand Mirror: Optional, but helpful for seeing the back of your head.
Step 1: Prepare Your Hair
-
Brush It Out: Give your hair a good brush to remove tangles and smooth the base.
-
Create a Parting: Start at the lower back of your head and create a horizontal parting where your first weft will sit.
Step 2: Clip Up Your Hair
-
Secure the top layer of hair above the parting using large hair clips.
Step 3: Prepare the First Weft
-
Open all clips on the weft and ensure it fits comfortably along your hairline.
Step 4: Install the First Weft
-
Position the clips just below the parting, snap them into your hair (not your scalp), and secure each clip.
Step 5: Create a New Parting
-
Release the clipped hair, create a new parting about half an inch above the last, and clip the top section again.
Step 6: Install Additional Wefts
-
Continue working upward, attaching wefts and adjusting placement for a seamless blend.
Step 7: Check for Gaps
-
Run your fingers along each weft to ensure everything lies flat and blends smoothly.
Step 8: Add Side Pieces
-
Insert and adjust side pieces to frame your face naturally.
Step 9: Style Your Hair
-
Style using a heat tool set between 320–360°F, blending your natural hair with the extensions.
Step 10: Removing the Hair Wefts
- Snap open all clips and gently lift each weft away from your hair—no pulling.
